長崎県は異国情緒と歴史的背景に彩られた観光地として知られます。

県庁所在地の長崎市には、かつて唯一の海外貿易の窓口だった出島や、中国文化を伝える唐人屋敷跡、オランダ風情を再現したグラバー園などがあり、西洋と東洋の交流史を体感できます。

世界遺産には、キリスト教伝来と弾圧の歴史を物語る大浦天主堂や「長崎と天草地方の潜伏キリシタン関連遺産」が登録されています。

また、2015年には明治期の産業革命を示す端島（軍艦島）も世界文化遺産に加わりました。

自然景観では雲仙岳を中心とする雲仙天草国立公園や、美しい海岸線を持つ五島列島、西海国立公園などが人気です。
